19 I ’m here to help you pre- ight your biggest ideas, start your engine and take o toward the goals you’ve always imagined – not the easy stu ; I’m talking about your legacy: e goals that de ne not what you do, but who you are. In 2014, I ew around the world on my own terms, in a modern day aircra , with the help of a wholehearted team and in a way that allowed me to climb to altitudes I never knew existed. My 28,000 mile, 18-day global trek took two years to plan, and almost fell apart more times than I can count. Plenty of people told me I couldn’t make it happen. While retracing the ight of my namesake, Amelia Mary Earhart, I knew that it was up to me to build my own runway, to create my own path that I wanted to follow. Yes, you’ll have turbulence, you’ll have intense headwinds that make you want to call the whole thing o , you’ll even have crash landings – but these setbacks, these panic inducing challenges, they keep us from becoming reliant on auto-pilot. Most folks are just along for the ride, but you, you want to navigate your course toward greatness. It’s time to stop agreeing to “sit back, relax and enjoy the ight.” You’re here. You feel it. Get out of the cabin and slide into the pilot’s seat of your life. You are now in charge of where your ight is headed. No two flight paths are exactly the same, and that’s why it feels so great to fly. Amelia Rose Earhart, Around-the-World Pilot and Speaker DAY 1 SPEAKER
